Subject: Troop 433 April 20-22 Outing - Zip Line & Overnight Canoeing

Dear Troop 433 Scouts and Parents,

I am writing to follow up Monday night's brief introduction to our April 20-22 zip line and overnight canoe outing. In case you were not there for the video clips and photos, we are going to http:// in the Florida panhandle, which is also the home of Both of these sites will give you a feel for this awesome trip!

The cost is $125 per scout and $100 per adult, which includes a significant discount. Please go to and register if you want to go, and bring payment to our Monday, April 9 or 16 Troop Meeting.  All of our Scouts are old enough to do all activities, but they do need to weigh at least 70 pounds to do the zip line adventure.

*Scouts and Adults will need to bring camping, swim wear, food, cooking utensils and extra money for travel meals and any souvenirs (see details below). The troop will provide bottled water as part of this outing, but bring your nalgene bottle too.

Friday, April 20th
Leave church at 5pm. Eat at Wendy's south of Atlanta (bring $). Arrive to Adventures Unlimited by 10pm Central Time. Spend the night in the Old Bunkhouse (will only need sleeping bag for the first night - sleeps up to 27 people).

Saturday, April 21st
7am Breakfast - Bring an easy one that is cold or only requires hot water to mix. Bring healthy snacks for energy mid morning.
9am Zip Line Experience - We will be split into groups of 6-8, fitted with gear and trained by guides. Two guides will accompany each group. This is very safe and all equipment is state of the art. We will ride 5-9 zip lines, including a 900 foot finish beside the Coldwater River.
12:30pm Lunch - Bring as part of your camp food, or you can bring money to purchase lunch at the Tomahawk Landing shop.
2pm Depart for 18-mile Overnight Canoe Trip - Vehicles will transport us up river for afternoon canoeing and swimming. Scouts can fish without a license, but adults will need to purchase a FL fishing license. Bring poles and lures if you plan to fish. Here is a link for more fishing info -
6pm Dinner and Set up Camp on Sandbars - Bring camping dinner and any cooking gear needed (or plan with a buddy). Also, it will be best for most scouts if they have a buddy to share a 2-man tent with, so everyone will not need to bring their own tent. Adults can plan accordingly too.

Sunday, April 22nd
7am Breakfast - Bring camp food and cooking gear needed (or share with a buddy). Clean up camp.
8:30am Canoe, swim and fish en route to landing.
12pm Depart for home. Eat at Waffle House or other (bring $ for eating on trip home).
6pm Arrive at church with lots of great memories!

If you have any questions we can discuss at April 9 and 16 Troop Meetings. Thanks very much and have a great spring break!

Yours in Scouting,
