Things We Do

Troop 433 makes plans each year to take the boys on some exciting high-adventure trips. These trips give the boys the opportunity to see new places and grow through the experiences gained by each adventure. We consider it a very important task to challenge each boy to be his best and to experience all that life has to offer.

Activities

Troop 433 stays busy each year with a variety of activities. Each month there is at least one camping trip that scouts may choose to attend. Some more popular activities include:

Fun

Our Outings program is among the best! If it has water on it, we canoe it! The Okefenokee Swamp, rivers of Georgia and South Carolina, Florida have all had our paddles breaking the water. We go under water SCUBA diving. We backpack the Appalachian Trail, the Shining Rock Wilderness, Cumberland Island and The Great Smokey Mountains! We do whitewater rafting, spelunking, and mountain biking -- every now and then, we just go camping.

Service

We also try to serve our fellow citizens -- serving dinner at MUST Ministries and performing service projects with the Order of the Arrow. Our Scouts have also served at the Bible Thrift Store in Marietta. These are all fun, exciting, and often challenging experiences that we have enjoyed.

Troop 433 strives to serve our sponsoring church by responding to its needs with service projects. We have put fencing around the air conditioning compressors and drainpipes outside the nursery. We built the volleyball court and the raised vegetable garden.

Learning

Scouting teaches us positive values in a world that increasingly stands for nothing but the pursuit of being "politically correct". Scouting encourages us to embrace our duty to God and Country, learn the difference between right and wrong, and be of good service to others.
